Here we are, folks! The last day of Comfort Detox. We’ve looked at comfort in all its forms: emotional, spiritual, physical, mentally. We’ve analyzed at comfort routines and comfortable living. We’ve considered daily deserts and intentional disorientation.
Whew! It’s been a big month.
Now, at the end of this 31 Days adventure, perhaps you are wondering where we go from here. Well, I intend to keep on the Comfort Detox journey. For some reason, I am still quite prone to comfort hoarding and indulging. (boo!) I long for more freedom so that God is free to use me and my resources to deliver His comfort to anyone in need. Baby steps, right? Yes, I’m asking God to keep pushing me in the right direction, so that step by step, decision by decision, I am headed toward a life lived for others and not self.
Are you interested in joining me? There is more to come: comfort addiction is the topic of my current writing project. If you see an article or hear about a book that relates to comfort, please send it my way. If you are willing to share your own Comfort Detox story, I’d love to hear it. Your comments and shares and likes let me know I do not walk this path alone.
What has God taught you during this Comfort Detox challenge?
