Seeking God’s Face

Tonight at True Woman 12, Nancy Leigh DeMoss is challenging us to take a look at the deep places in our hearts. What do we find there? We find empty pockets, places seeking to be filled. With something. Anything.

We take an amusement here, a bauble there. But it soon evaporates like the morning dew. We are left empty once again.

But what if there was something that was fully satisfying? What if our hearts never had to thirst again or feel the pang of emptiness again?

Good news: There is something—better yet, SomeOne!—who meets our deepest hunger and harshest thirst. God can fill our hearts to the full. He calls, He beckons, “Come.” Come, find a filling that doesn’t end. This is the cry of my heart for this conference:

“Hear, O Lord, when I cry aloud; be gracious to me and answer me! You have said, ‘Seek my face.’ My heart says to you, ‘Your face, Lord, do I seek.’ Hide not your face from me.” —Psalm 27:7–9 (ESV)
