I’m back! To get back in the read-a-thon groove, I’m taking on the Poetry Angst! mini-challenge hosted by Shel and Monica over at The Hungry Reader. They are asking us to write a poem about our reading experience . . .
OK, I can do that, but on short notice, this won’t win any awards (prizes from the hosts, perhaps but no literary awards, I mean). I call this piece, “Wooed by Books.”

O, books that sing their siren song
tempting this feeble heart
to long
for hours of endless reading
O, dark of night but not of heart
weighing heavy on eyes
that smart
but will not stop reading
