Start now.

Earlier this week I saw someone mention the year they joined LinkedIn, and it got me curious when I joined. I found the instructions to track it down here and discovered I joined in 2009. That’s 13 years ago. I. KNOW. I was shocked—how has it been 13 years?!?!

A lot has changed since then. Although my entire professional life has been in marketing communications and creative writing, it’s taken on different forms—from corporate communications to university teaching to freelance writing to consulting. So many people have advise me, encouraged me, and connected me to others to help me grow and change. Now, in 2022, I’m a chief content strategist specializing in donor communications strategy for nonprofits. Every day I work with nonprofit directors and leaders who are infusing good in the world. And that’s why I love my work! The world has plenty of troubles. But the organizations I work with have inspiring solutions that work because people like you and me partner together to shape the world we want to see.

Change is part of life, but often it comes in degrees that are hard to see or even harder to initiate. My aim is to help clients get where they want to go through strategic communications that make their mission irresistible to the donors who will partner in the work.

Where do you want to go in 2022? Twelve months is plenty of time to initiate change—and yet, it is also a blip! It will go so very fast, especially without a purposeful plan to get you where you need to be. Let’s start now and see what change we can muster in the year ahead.
